James Pierson’s seems to be arguing that American leftists, or the American mainstream media during the 1960s, at least, was arguing that the reason for the racial tensions in America in the 1960s, was because of the JFK assassination. And the reason why President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963, was because of far-right opposition to America’s membership in the United Nations.
I’m sure there are American leftists who believe at least publicly (perhaps they’re smart enough not to believe this privately) that right-wing opposition to President Kennedy and the civil rights movement, was the reason for the political violence of the 1960s, including the JFK assassination. But that’s not even close to be a mainstream view in America. At least not between the center-left and center-right, on the American political spectrum.
